everyone grinds leetcode but nobody practices the actual interview conversation — so i built something for that

i've been watching candidates spend 40+ hours on leetcode and then completely freeze when asked 'walk me through your resume' or 'why do you want this role?' it felt like we were all optimizing for the wrong 20% of the interview.

full disclosure: i'm vamshi, i built this tool (nxtinterview.com) because i kept seeing the same pattern. people would ace the technical round and then stumble hard on behavioral stuff, or couldn't explain their own projects clearly under pressure. the algorithm was perfect but the story was a mess.

the insight that made me build this: the hardest part of interviews isn't knowing the answer — it's saying it out loud, under time pressure, to another human. you can read 100 articles about STAR method but until you actually practice answering 'tell me about a time you failed' while someone's watching the clock, you don't know where you'll hesitate or ramble.

so i built a mock interview tool that simulates the actual conversation part. you upload your resume, pick the role you're prepping for, and it asks you realistic questions based on your background. records your answers so you can watch yourself back (painful but necessary). the goal isn't to memorize scripts — it's to get comfortable thinking on your feet.
